About
SEED Health
Social and Economic Evaluation of Determinants of Health
SEED Health is a research program examining how social, economic, and policy environments influence population health. Using quantitative methods from economics and epidemiology, the group studies how government decisions and societal structures affect the distribution of health outcomes—and what can be done to reduce inequities.
By linking data with policy analysis, SEED Health generates evidence to guide fairer, more effective public health systems.
Atlantic SPROUT
Studies of Pharmacoepidemiology, Regional Outcomes, and Use Trends
Atlantic SPROUT focuses on prescription drug use and health outcomes in Atlantic Canada. The team applies pharmacoepidemiology and drug utilization research methods to study the safety, effectiveness, and patterns of outpatient medication use. Drug policies are different in each of the Atlantic provinces and decisionmakers need to know how those policies influence health and wellbeing.
As one of the regional nodes of the Canadian Network for Observational Drug Effect Studies (CNODES), Atlantic SPROUT contributes to national efforts to produce real-world evidence that supports safer, smarter prescribing and better patient care.
