Haylie Simmons, BSc

Haylie is completing her Master of Science in Epidemiology and Applied Health Research at Dalhousie University. Her thesis focuses on estimating the population-level impact of expanded access to long-acting reversible contraceptives on the rate of sexually transmitted blood-borne infections. She is co-supervised by Daniel Dutton and Nichole Austin.

 

Haylie completed her BSc majoring in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of New Brunswick and has previous research experience through her research assistant role with New Brunswick Institute of Research Data and Training. Her previous research experience focused on access to care, healthy aging, and determinants of mental health.

 

Haylie enjoys walking her dog, Lilly, and performing Olympic weightlifting in her spare time.
